This virtual training course, taking place over 5 sessions, offers a hands-on introduction to statistical modeling and big data analytics specifically designed for petroleum engineering and geoscience applications.

The objective of this 5-day field course is to explore the reservoir modelling and petroleum engineering aspects of deepwater clastic reservoirs.

This 5-day field course provides an in-depth analysis of faulting and fracturing in carbonate and shale strata using superb exposures in central and west Texas. The outcrops offer analogs for deformation in carbonate reservoirs and shale resource plays around the world.

A virtual course, run over 6 sessions, where you will gain the practical skills necessary to utilize seismic inversion methods and Quantitative Interpretation (QI) techniques to characterise reservoirs and plan drilling projects for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.

This 5-day field course will use outcrop analogues from eastern Utah to describe workflows for better, facies-based reservoir modelling and illustrate why this matters with subsurface case studies. The course will visit classic outcrop sections, many of which have well logs and cores behind the cliffs allowing us to close the gap between outcrop and subsurface data. The concepts will be illustrated with reservoir models built from the outcrops. Virtual outcrops will also be available to enhance the understanding and integrate modern analogues.

This 5-day field course is aimed at geoscientists and engineers (especially in teams) exploring for and developing carbonate reservoirs and has particular relevance to those working in the Permian Basin. This trip visits world-class carbonate outcrops in southeast New Mexico and west Texas and relates them to subsurface examples from the Permian Basin as well as other basins around the world. All major types of carbonate systems are viewed during this trip while examining thick and laterally extensive (seismic-scale) outcrops and interpreting oil field examples.
