New self-paced e-learning course - Resource, Risk and Economics Assessment
We are pleased to introduce a new self-paced e-learning course, Resource, Risk and Economics Assessment (EC019), to our growing e-learning portfolio.
Resource, Risk and Economic Assessment - the details
Run over 11 modules, this new course is aimed at professionals involved in energy project evaluation and decision-making, including project managers, reservoir and production engineers, risk analysts, commercial analysts, and technical leads who want to develop skills in resource risk and economic assessment.
It will equip you to confidently assess resource, risk and economic value in oil and gas projects. You’ll master core concepts of risk and uncertainty, use practical tools like risk registers, matrices, and the Boston Square, and apply decision aids such as influence diagrams and decision trees.
You’ll also learn to model uncertainty with statistical distributions, parametric methods, and Monte Carlo simulation, understand the impact of correlation, and recognise and counter cognitive biases. By the end, you’ll be able to quantify uncertainty, integrate multiple risks, and apply robust methods to strengthen project evaluation and high-stakes decision-making.
